Anyway, I personally didn't do much for Halloween. I just kind of hung out. I went to San Francisco today to look for a dress for my birthday. It was pretty fun seeing all the people dressed up.Except for the sluts in their slutwear. I have to say my favorite was this guy dressed up like a banana with a sombrero.
So on that note, I also found an amazing dress. I feel its like a modern Audrey Hepburn dress. Its soooo pretty I can't wait to wear it. Its all velvety and sequiny and awesome. I would take a picture of it because I don't think the exposure with the velvet and the sequins would turn out good. Plus Im too lazy to try.
Also, I made some new art but Im too lazy to take pictures and upload them and they're too big for my scanner. Same goes for this cool vinyl that my friend bought for me...IT WILL HAPPEN SOON. Im just way to fokken tired tonight and I don't know why.
And OH YEAH, last week I voted (via absentee ballot) and am reminding everyone to do so on November 2nd! Its crucial! Personally I wanna see how things turn out and Im also sick of seeing ugly Meg Whitman's commercial. You know, the one where she says "Some people say that California can't be goverened. I say bologna." Shut the hell up lady.
But aside from my biased opinion, Im very tired of all the smear campaigns. You know its pretty bad when you dont know what each candidate really even stands for, just what they have to point out that is bad about their opponent.
But if you thought American smear campaigns were bad, the Canadians have it down to an art form

Also did a a huge presentation in one of my psych classes and I feel soooo relieved that its over. I feel like I can breathe a little bit now.
So a few days ago I was browsing the internets and I found some really awesome animated videos. They're by an artist named Ivan Maximov, and I find them particularly incredible. Being the kind of person I am, I always ponder how people come to express their creativity in the way they do.
This one, "СЛЕВА НАПРАВО" or in English "From Left To Right" is one of my favorites that I have found so far.
This other clip "Bolero" which I think Maximov collaborated with another artist, is also beautifully crafted. Upon the first few seconds of watching it, you might think you are watching an animation in loop. But what I find so wonderful about it are all the subtle changes that you start to notice that are small but make a big impact.
Im addicted to watching his work now. God, I live for things like this!
Also I've become re addicted to Superjail! I had forgotten about how awesome that damn perverted, sick show is. WHEN IS SEASON TWO GONNA HAPPEN???
You have to watch the whole thing to really...I guess 'get it', PLease do, because if you just watch like the first 60 seconds of it, you'll think I have a problem.
Also is it weird that I find this video strangely touching? Just two slabs of meat, having meat love, dancing like meat and then humping eachothers meat. Its a beautiful life you know.
But honestly its been from a combination of things such as way too much work and what not, Ive hardly had any time to breathe. Also I've been really moody and reclusive...which I guess isn't anything new but I could technically use it as an excuse. I dunno. I dont even think Dr. Phil would know.
But in better news, we finally got internetz here at my apartamento so this will make the blogging more convinient! Yay! Plus I'll get to waste more of my life away on the computer. Double yay!
So what have I been up to? Uhh well mostly just being crabby about all the shit I have to take care of. So here's a list of what I've been doing:
1. Laughing like an idiot at videos like this (thanks to the boyfriend for this gem). And its not that it makes me an idiot to find this funny because I think it is, but its just I could replay that shit over and over again. Oh Caitlin.
I guess I need to put a banging donk on it.
2. Learning a ton about this guy Oh come on, you know who that is! Its Rollo May! *coughpsychologynerdismecough*
3. Eating a lot of noodles and with my hair being its longest in quite a while I've realized that I need to get me one of these Nothing ruins the experience of eating really good spaghetti like a mouthfull of your own hair.
4. Thinking about how cool owls are and being angry that I still havent seen that damn owl movie.
I'd like to think I look like ponderous owl when Im pondering.
5. Listening to really chill music

What? Are you getting mad because none of those are actual music videos? Well suck it, this is my blog.
Oh by the way, the King Night album by Salem is sooo good, I almost cried the first time I heard the whole album through. Oh fine, heres a real music video. If watching this makes you feel kind of grimy and uncomfortable, you aren't alone.

Oh yeah and I have work in like 2 hours. So not in the mood to be a copy cat today. Especially after being scolded last week after leaving early and supposedly leaving an unfinished job even though I left explicit instructions on what to do. Whatever, thats all I have to say about that otherwise I'll go on for another 3 paragraphs.
They're so badass. Especially the chick, Alexis Krauss. It makes her even cooler that we have similar hair dos. But yeah, this video is pretty much exactly what I envisioned it would be like. So coooool *fangirl*

So on a rather unrelated note, while at work the other day, I was browsing through Urban Outfitter's website. And while I normally enjoy shopping at Urban Outfitters, I saw this and I just did not understand. What the hell is it?

I think that secretly my parents wish I'd dress like this so that I wouldn't attract the male species. Too bad. Been there done that, ITS TOO LATE!

Also while on one of my streaks of boredom at work, I stumbled upon a rather interesting article on Yahoo called "How the Term 'Hipster' Lost its Swing". Its all about how marketing lately has aimed toward the more hip crowd in recent times. Yet the word 'hipster' has become a no-no because it has become one associate with more negative qualities. I actually agree, have you seen those stupid Miracle Whip commercials?
Wow, I have never felt before that I could relate so much to a jar of mayonaise. Looks like a few of those film shots were taken straight out of a San Francisco photography student with a love of Holga photography's portfolio. Also, did you see how hip that girl was at the end holding that jar of Miracle Whip? I wanna be just like her.

On a completely unrelated note, the other day on my drive to school, I attempted to sing Hyperballad by Bjork. I should not do that.
Seriously, it was all kinds of bad. I hope no one in the cars around me could hear my cat like yowling. The lesson learned is that no one can do it like Bjork without sounding like they have throat cancer. But I have to say favorite part of this video is when that guy goes all crazy intense on that snare drum in the last few seconds of the song. hahahahaha

The only way you could be an old man and get away with a video like this as well as a song like "No Pussy Blues" is if you're Nick Cave. Seriously though, what the hell is this video? WHY? And um, random 'sumbliminal' giant erection shot? Yeahh...But you know what? You keep kickin' ass Nick Cave! Honestly Im quite fond of that song. Imma look into some Grinderman.

I hope everyone had the chance to enjoy their Labor Day weekend. Mine was actually pretty nice considering the fact that I had no days off from work and did 5 days in a row!! No but seriously, my weekend was in part very nice. One of the upsides to doing all those shifts is that next weekend I get Friday and Saturday off! Maybe I could arrange for that to be my schedule from here on out, but Im skeptical.
Anyway, so yesterday after work (the last of my 5 day stint)I rewarded myself by going to Target. Yes, that is my idea of a reward and its ok because Target is THE SHIT.
So last time I went to Target I saw these shoes and I thought 'Hey man,those are pretty cool.' Id been wanting a pair of Oxfords for some time and the price that I got them at wasnt too bad. But now that I have them Im not so sure I should have gotten them. I mean I like them and they're pretty good quality but I just dont know if I really have anything to wear them with...
I plan on having a new look for fall that involves some darker color tones and these would work with my mod-meets-goth look but I find I just dont know how to wear them :(
I think they look cool with skinny jeans. Maybe when it comes to shoes Im just not used to something that looks so structured. Most of my shoes are just plain little flats.
For those of you interested in my mom's commentary on my whole shoe dilemma, she says that they look like Wicked Witch of the West shoes. I agree but its AWESOME!
Still though, what good will they do me if I dont know/don't have anything to wear them with? Any suggestions? Or should I get my money back? Help is appreciated.
I love Zola Jesus. She has an amazing voice. I think this video is lovely too, a sort of throw back to Poltergeist.
In more recent days I find myself enchanted with Bjork again. She is fabulous.
So basically I'm at the Starbucks across the street from my apartment complex because my internet blows so hard I need to go places with free wifi to get any buisness done. So I figured while I was here I'd do a quick post.
Anyway, I've come back to some of my crativity lately,mostly just junk that has been in my mind, that I finally put on paper. More recently its been all about geometric shapes. Here's the two I have to start. Oh be warned, I don't think I really wanted them to turn out good, they just had to be done. So if you think they suck, they probably do. I call the series 'Depressed Geometry".
Believe it or not, they do have meaning. They say something. For me anyway. Stupid exposure crappyness. Cosmo is taking the one of the single cube. One day when Im famous and the SFMOMA is featuring my collection, he'll have something thats worth millions. Im going to make more like those, maybe experiment with some pyramids.
Anyhoo, since I feel awkward just sitting here at Starbucks, I'm going to leave you all with two songs, both of which have amazing videos.

It has been a while hasn't it? I dont think I've had this kind of time gap with my blog ever...or at least not in a while.
Anyway, since my last post I have been in a whirlwind with my vacation to LA, and then returning back home and working on moving into my new place. Then of course school starts officially for me tomorrow, bright and early at 8 am. Id be lying if I said I was ready... Also part of the reason why I didn't blog sooner is because the wi fi at my new place SUCKS so bad, I mean pretty much anything with a log in page is off limits. Except facebook. Go figure.
So yeah, as I said before my time is limited. I will be in class in...apporimetly 11 hours. Which means based on my recent sleeping schedule I should be in bed right now. Umm but you know. Im dreading the homework and all that shizzy. It seems like this kid has a good idea as to how to get out of school work:

Anyway, here's a summary or rather the highlights of recent times,
-My vacation to LA!!!! I'm kind of dumb and hardly took any pictures. Actually like zero. So you'll have to believe me when I tell you that I had an awesome time.
-I got to see my buddy JENNA!!!! She's pretty much my wife. Just sayin.
Which reminds me of a kind of related story. So my mom seems to get a little weird whenver I call Jenna my wife. And a few summers ago, I made this collage in my bedroom using pictures from old fashion magazines I had laying around like Vogue or Elle or whatever. So I had this corner of my bedroom completely full of magazine spreads, ads, etc that I liked. My mom asks me "Why are there only pictures of girls?" The real answer would have been that there were only girls because they were WOMEN'S FASHION magazines. Also, they weren't ALL women, I threw some hot guys in there too. But I just answered "Because Im a lesbian." My dad thought my joke was funny, my mom didn't.
Anyway, moving on....
-in LA I went clubbin for this first time, I'll just show you these two pictures to tell you how that went:
-Along those same lines, Jenna asked me the night we went clubbing if I wanted to 'touch her penis'. I didnt know she had a penis. Then she asked me to 'bump penises' with her. So apparently I have one too. I did not know this. The nature of our relationship has changed completely, needless to say.
-Plenty, plenty TONS of witch core/drag music. Pretty much diggin it.
Ok, so I could post SO MUCH MORE of witchcore/drag music, but I dont want to bore you. So if you're interested just look those same artists up on youtube or whatever.

-Oh yeah! Lots of new vinyls! The xx (finally), LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, Sleigh Bells and Best Coast, Collecting those is so addicting. Which by the way, if you havent given the new Arcade Fire album "The Suburbs" a listen yet, its definetly worth your time.
Uhhh I hate this long time no posts...posts because I never know what to talk about. I feel like this one was a little bit lame. Hopefully the internet will improve and I'll be able to post with more frequency!! If not then I'll be spending more time in the library. Oh well.
