Picked up these guys at Borders today with the gift card that Sean gave me. I looove them, they're so adorable.

I was also able to get a photo album to use for when I get my Diana film developed. Hopefully I can get to that this coming week! So excited!

Man, it has been so sunny and nice lately. It doesn't quite feel like spring to me, but rather more like a late summer appearing in January. Kind of hazy. Makes me sooo addicted to this song as of late:


Weird video, dog grooming and graphic female nudity (yeah, I bet that made you watch it) But...the song is awesome.

Speaking of music, today on my way to Windsor to visit my parents, I decided to stop by The Last Record Store in Santa Rosa to see if I could find anything interesting. It was a nice visit, but kind of pointless since I dont have a ton of extra money right now. Anyhoo, this homeless guy outside asked me if I had any money to spare. I did not, I felt bad but I wasn't carrying any cash on me. He replied "Oh, thats alright, I understand, dont worry, dont worry, I love you! I love you!"

If only everyone was so nice. I felt like a bitch though. No cash to give the poor guy.

So I basically just have one more week of winter break, then its back to school! Im actually pretty excited to begin. My classes are going to be good I think :) Plus, I got my big application in to CIIS (my grad school of choice), so now everything is out of my hands and I just have to breathe, wait and be patient to see how things turn out. But for now, I'll work on my last semester, and spend some good time discussing dreams with my buddy Sigmund.

I Do Not Care For the Winter Sun

Hey peoples,

sorry for the delay, I really wasn't expecting it. And I really don't have any excuses for not posting lately, so lets just get to it!

The holidays had their ups and downs, Christmas eve was very intense. I dont know what was up with everyone but people just seemed to be so stressed out! We tried to play a round of Pictionary but it turned into a screaming match. But I suppose thats bound to happen when you try to play a game with about 25 people.....

Also, I sprained my neck really bad. So much so I wasnt able to look to the right or downward so I looked kind of gimpy. Then Christmas morning I woke up with a nasty cold that made less enthusiastic than usual about opening presents. I KNOW! Crazy.

But Christmas Day I went with Sean to go see Black Swan. Which if you havent seen it yet, you most definitely should.



For those of you guys reading that don't think you want to see a ballet movie, there is a steamy girl on girl scene. Take that. But ASIDE from that, awesome movie, go seeeee

So I tend to be attracted to the odd and things that are a little strange. So I found this set of tableware and decor by artist Ronit Baranga and thought it was pretty nifty and unique. How would you like to find these every morning on your kitchen table?



























I personally would like one of those bowls with the fingers on the bottom.

So thats all for now. My boyfriend got me a lomography camera (a Diana F+) for Chrsitmas like I wanted! So once I get some film developed I'll be uploading those. Also I've been working on some different art pieces so you can look out for those too!

Until then, here's a music video for a kid who I think has some serious potential. I fell in love with this song because I think it fit in so well with the foggy, dreary morning that I first heard it. Can you believe he's only 16?

Holiday

Sooooo sorry Ive been missing. I was going to do a few posts before the new year but like an idiot I left my laptop in the central valley which has all my stuff on it >_< But it will be back on Thursday. Then I will be able to give you a full recap of my holiday experience that was full of germs, tamales, crazy Mexicans yelling, wrapping paper and oh so much more.

But until then.....

On xmas eve my family was watching the 'Planet Earth' series. I thought it was going to be like some lame documentary thing but it was AMAZING. Had I known sooner how awesome it was, I would have requested the whole DVD set on my list to Santa, but OH WELL. Most capivating were the undersea shots. So I give you a really baller octopus, a bird, and Nick Cave.

No silly, this isnt from 'Planet Earth', I was just making a connection, JEEZ!

Oh man.

Finals are done, school is out for winter break! I can't believe we're at the end of the year already.

Anyway, today I worked and given the fact that there is one week left before Christmas, working in retail has been absolute hell. Um hello people, its about to be Christmas, can you stop being assholes FOR ONCE??? Gawd.

I only have to work Monday and then I have a week and a half off, which I absolutely cannot wait for. Its gonna be awesome :) Especially since work has been killer lately. Apparently Im not allowed to surf the web anymore when there aren't any customers so I basically have been resorting to make post it note art. I happened to find these cool pieces, I can't believe someone drew this on Post Its!





























So awesome!

I got inspired and tried to make some of my own at work, but they just didnt compare. Oh well I'll have lots of time for art next semester, Im taking a depth oriented psychotherapy class, which is all about sandplay, mandalas and creativity in general. Im also going to be a TA for my art therapy class that I had last year. Yay!

So in more somber news, I heard yesterday that Captain Beefheart died. Now, I hadn't ever really listened to his stuff, I just knew he was highly influential to a lot of my favorite musicians such as PJ Harvey, and heard that his influences could be found in almost any kind of avant garde rock music out there. After reading a bit on him over at Pitchfork, I watched this interview that he did with David Letterman back in the day and concluded that Captain Beefheart was one awesome dude.



Of course now I find out about his awesomeness once he's gone. Maybe I can find some cool old vinyls, although now I bet all his stuff is going to be expensive as heck.
